The Faculty of Business, Economics and Management Information Systems was founded in 1967 as one of the first faculties of the University of Regensburg. Today it is one of the biggest faculties with over 2,500 students of a total of 20,000 students. Teaching and research are carried out by approximately 30 professors and associate professors as well as about 110 research and teaching assistants.
Students have a variety of options to choose from as a major. At the basic level we offer Bachelor’s degree programs in Business Administration, Economics, International Economics, Management and Information Systems. At the advanced level we offer Master’s degree programs in Business Administration, Economics, International Economics, Management Information Systems, and Real Estate Management. Especially gifted students may apply for selected "Honors" programs (in the Bachelor’s as well as in the Master’s track).
The faculty consists of the departments of Business Administration, Economics, Management Information Systems, and Real Estate Management. The faculty is member of a number of centers and institutes, e.g., Center of Finance, ibi research at University of Regensburg, East-West-Center (Europaeum), and the Institute for East European Studies.
A special emphasis is put on the formation of major subjects, multidisciplinarity and internationality, and the practical experience orientation underlined by an ambitious theoretical basis. Almost all areas of business and economics can be covered with the various areas of interest treated by our faculty.
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Management Information Systems has established partnerships with multiple European and global Universities. In line with the European exchange program SOKRATES/ERASMUS the University of Regensburg cooperates with Universities all over Europe, from Barcelona to Edinburgh, Stockholm, St. Petersburg and Athens, to name only a few. There are also numerous exchange programs with universities in the US or outside Europe, e.g., with University of Colorado, Murray State University, and Vanderbilt University in Tennessee.
