Jan Kolter is a research assistant and Ph.D. student at the Department of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Pernul).

Research topics

Jan Kolter's research interests focus on the development of user-friendly tools for the protection of privacy. In particular, this involves the following research topics:

  • User-centric Identity Management
  • Privacy-enhanced Access Control

Short biography

Jan Kolter earned his honors diploma in Business Information Systems at the University of Regensburg with concentrations in Information Systems, Bank Management, Finance and Financial Accounting & Auditing. During his course of study he also completed an MBA program at Murray State University, USA. Several internships helped him gain practical experiences in his field of study.

Since December 2005, Jan Kolter has been working as research assistant at the Department of Information Systems. His teaching responsibilities involve the tutorials of the courses `Datenbanken im Unternehmen` (Enterprise Databases) and `Informationssysteme - Entwicklungen und Trends` (Advanced Database Developments and Trends).
