Information for First-Year Students in Bachelor's Degree Programs

Enrollment for Regular Students

You can enroll in the Bachelor's program after having received your studies admission document. For all first-year students this happens by enrollment.

Enrollment (for students that have not yet studied in Regensburg):

If you are not yet enrolled at Regensburg University, you have to enlist personally during the enrollment period. Please fill out the preliminary online enrollment application (German). This application form and other information on the enrollment procedure you can get at the homepage of the students office (Studentenkanzlei, German).

Change of degree program at renewal of enrollment (for students already enlisted in Regensburg):

If you are already enrolled at Regensburg University, please show the application of change of degree program (German) at the students chancellery within the period of renewal.

The staff of the students office will answer all your questions on any matters of enrollment.

Introductory Week

At the beginning of the new semester we organize presentations and introductory talks for all new students. The exact times and places will be accounced on this page beforehand (likely in first week of lecture period).

Information on start and end dates of the lecture periods can be found in the semester's calendar. In the introductory week there will be a short tour around the premises, after a reception by the dean and an introduction into your studies by the student council. After that, and in the following days, you will attend the introductory courses in Business Administration, Economics, Business Information Systems and Real Estate Management. Additionally we offer a number of lectures on the required basics in mathematics. The students council will help you with planning your schedule and give an introduction to the university's data network. A get together in the evening wraps up the introductory week and allows for socializing.

Students Doing Minors

Please enlist in the list of attendees of your introductory lectures! Attendance is mandatory in your studies! At the end of introductory week you will be fully informed on all things relevant for your Bachelor's studies.

Booking Lectures, Tutorials, Seminars and the Bachelor's Thesis

In contrast to other faculties we do not have an in-advance booking system for lectures and tutorials. You can attend the lectures and tutorials without prior application.

You have to apply for participation in a Project Seminar (only for students in the Management Information Systems program). Application is open at the end of each semester for the project seminar in the consecutive one via an online platform.

You have to apply for seminars in the Economics programs of our Faculty. Please consult the websites of the Economics chairs for further information and deadlines.

In order to write your Bachelor's thesis, you have to apply at the examinations office. In the Business program the Institute of Business will assign you the subject of the thesis. In all other programs, you must contact a chair of your choice in order to negotiate the subject for you thesis.
